I was at a convenience store to get some drink, notice a kid in the shop at wee hours ( around 12AM plus) alone with his bicycle. The kid wants to buy a bottle of carbonated soft drink, however he didn't have sufficient money to pay off the 1.70 dollar for a drink that he wants. He's innocent but i could see he's so desperate to have it based on his conversation with the teller and his innocent emoticon. He immediately asked the teller, what he could get with three pieces of 50 cents that he have with him.
This stood me off and reminds me about myself. It was just a 20 cents, i could easily pay off for him and he could have it. I do check my pocket to look for any coins i do have to help. Found it ! Pay the remaining balance for him without looking at the kid at all.
The teller told the kid, yea you could have the drink now. And the kid was stunned for a while with his innocent expression again. After few seconds, the kid thank me for the help with a statement "Thank You, Uncle"
LoL, i wasn't that old.. but he called me uncle. I nod for it and a smile on my face to acknowledge the kid. I was abit unsure what kind of expression to share back to the kid. I hope the kid enjoy the drink that he desired for.
